Hidden in Plain Sight is a documentary that sets out to reveal the true economic and cultural costs of traumatic stress on our nation. Making the case that trauma is the nation’s largest health care crisis, the film uncovers the extent to which trauma touches all of our lives in the most insidious and unexpected ways. Through the stories of ordinary Americans who suffer from traumatic stress, we see just how pervasive this disease is.
The film also looks at how trauma is being treated (or not as the case often is) and how a multi-billion dollar trauma industry has evolved that may well serve to exacerbate the crisis. Through interviews with leading experts, the film reveals the true nature of America’s largest health care crisis.
